Steve Lewis, MA, LMFTA
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my goal is to connect with individuals and couples who are navigating the storms of life and help them become the best versions of themselves. I utilize a warm and casual style that facilitates an environment of trust and support, allowing clients space to build effective skills and develop resiliency for the inevitable storms ahead.
Professional Background
I am a veteran of the U.S. Army where I served honorably as a Combat Medic with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. I understand the unique challenges faced by veterans, military personnel, and their families. While serving overseas I developed a deep understanding of the loss, grief, and trauma (physical and psychological) that humans can encounter. Navigating these trying times of trauma and loss revealed to me that I have a gift for listening to people and assisting them in processing their experiences.
In addition to my military service, I also have experience working in crisis intervention, case management, and as a first responder. My professional and life experiences as well as my Christian faith are all integrated into my work with clients.
Approach to Therapy
I utilize a collaborative approach to therapy because my belief is that people are the experts of themselves. Your goals for therapy will direct much of our work together.
