Let’s Talk

Joel Wadsworth, LMFTA

I became a therapist because I care deeply about people and the challenges they face. I’ve always been drawn to conversations about life, purpose, pain, and healing. Over time, I realized that being a steady, supportive presence for others, especially in hard seasons, is where I feel most at home. I see therapy as a space where people can show up as they are, and begin to make sense of what’s going on in their lives.

Who I work with
I work with teens, adults, couples, and families. I often connect with single parents, college students, older adults, and teens who are struggling. I also work with people who are questioning or deconstructing their faith, or wrestling with spiritual confusion. Whatever you’re walking through, I aim to meet you with openness and curiosity, without pressure or judgment.

What I Help With
I support people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and big life transitions. I also work with folks who are feeling unmotivated, stuck, or uncertain about what’s next. In relationships, I help couples and families work through struggles with communication, conflict patterns, and rebuilding trust after things like infidelity. Whether the issue feels big or small, it matters and we’ll work through it together.

How I Approach Therapy
People often describe me as warm, easy to talk to, and honest. I bring encouragement and structure into the room, and I’m not afraid to ask hard questions when they’re needed. I use a mix of approaches depending on what fits best for you including EFT and Gottman for couples, and tools from CBT, IFS, and person-centered therapy. I’m especially interested in attachment, identity, and how our relationships shape the way we see ourselves. I want you to feel seen, heard, and supported as you move forward.

Why I Do This Work
There’s nothing more meaningful to me than seeing people grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves and with the people they care about. I believe we all carry something good inside us, even in the messiest seasons. Being part of someone’s healing journey is an honor, and it’s why I chose this work.
